About My Project

I am researching within the European Court of Human Rights Library, a rich archive of over 80,000 items. In my research, I would like to examine scholarship surrounding the Court’s interpretations of prisoners’ right to vote. I would use this research to inform a paper that compares the legal foundations of prisoners’ voting rights in the United States and Europe. I plan to argue that prisoners should maintain their rights to citizenship, including their ability to cast ballots in elections while behind bars.
