About My Project

I am measuring maximum grip forces across a range of strepsirrhine taxa (lemurs) housed at the Duke Lemur Center. I have also designed an age-adjusted learning module outreach program utilizing grip force as an interactive activity to engage K-12th grade students with the specific goals of fostering increased public knowledge regarding primate evolution and biomechanics. In this program, students will be measuring their own grip force and compare it to that of the lemurs I collect at the Duke Lemur Center.
